Fischer Random Chess in Chessbase Hi all ...
I was wondering if anybody has tried to set up a Fischer Random game in ChessBase 9.0. I can set up a FR starting positon using the FEN code and/or ChessBase's 'set up new position' feature. However, ChessBase disqualifies all castling because it is using 'traditional' chess rules. Does anybody know of a work-around for this problem in CB 9 that doesn't require that I set up a brand new board when either side castles (using the Fischer Random rules)?
The reason I ask is a friend and I are starting a friendly Fischer Random postal CC game and I would like to have a place to store the game and perhaps keep a PGN record of the game. Any thoughts? I also have a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet I use to generate CC post cards which has a pair of chess boards built in. If all else fails, I will keep track of my game there and generate the PGN manually.
