Let's use this one. Today we are in #26 and still doing well. We have not had a game completion so the team has not moved in either direction. We have a couple of inactive players at the moment but that should change in the near future. |

For instance, look at the team ranking, we are number 26. Now look at the games won that are ahead of us. Many have won less games than we have and some even have a negative number for games won. That means they have lost more games than they have won. How can a team with - Wins be rated/ranked above a team that has a score of + 265? So we just continue as we are because things will not change. |

Message: other team must have 5 I will accept but I will protest first. :-) Anyhow, I think that most teams will wnt to keep it at 3. I know that Luca [mateintwo] prefers longer time but that is because of job and his team mates have school etc. His team "Italians do it Better" is a good team and if he asks for 5 I will accept. Message: of you guys to know that you want to stay with 3 days/move but 5 days/move would be ok in some cases. So that is what I will do. Whenever I challenge I will use 3 days/move but if I receive a challenge and it is 5 days/move and it is a good challenge I will accept. I will never accept 7 days/move. We dropped a little today. We are in #32. Still respectable but in the top 10 would be nice. Hard to achieve with this system. For instance yesterday Hans got a Draw. You would think that is a no point won or lost by the team but it was lost points because that team was lower ranked. In the same way, if we Draw against a higher rated team we gain points. If we play a team that is say below us by say 10 rating points and we Win a game and Draw a game taking 1.5-.5 it is conceivable that the end result for us is - points. You figure!! So we just play as best we can and not to worry so much about ratings. However it turns out that fine with me. Just enjoy your games. |

In each case, my opponent was slightly higher rated than me, but because their TEAM was lower rated, we dropped in points. Ah well ... keep 'pushing wood'! |

I have accepted a couple with 5 days. I always would like to get 3 days but some teams definitely do not want 3 days. We have 1 member on the team that definitely does not want more than a 3 day time control. If there is anyone else that definitely does not want more than 3 day let me know. Like I said I am striving for 3 days only but sometimes it is hard to do. Definitely the 7 day matchup was my mistake and that will not happen again. There is also the problem of these new time controls being new and that 7 day and a 5 day slipped by me. I will try to pay closer attention to that. |
