I have this book which is now quiet old. Questionable i think is some of the moves suggested in the dragon, Nunn and co suggest 9.0-0-0 do you think this is best, then if 9...d5 they thinki 10.QE1 is the go, this seems a bit dubious though. They like 6.f4 against the najdorf, i also think some of the moves suggested for the pelikan might be out of date as this line seems to change a lot. Are the lines still recommended in BTS3 still good and playable, is there going to be a beating the sicilian 4?

I think most of it is probably still playable (even if it is not considered to be "best"). No idea about BTS4
9. O-O-O is definitely the strogest line to play against the Dragon, in my opinion. 9. Bc4 is the only reasonable alternative (9. g4 is totally unambitious) but that requires a lot of theory knowledge and even then no advantage is guaranteed. 10. Qe1 is an interesting try but only because the mainline after 9...d5 is incredibly theoretical and requires a huge amount of knowledge if white wants an advantage. If you don't mind the theory, then 10. exd5 Nxd5 11. Nxc6 bxc6 12. Bd4 e5 13. Bc5 is the best way to go. However, there are certain points where taking the offered Rf8 is allowable and other times where it is dubious so that is something to be aware of. If you've got time, learn the 10 exd5 lines as they are strongest but 10. Qe1 is not bad.

Not sure if I'm totally up to date, but I think this is mostly correct.
9. Bc4 is not particularly problematic if Black sticks to the ...Rc8 and ...h5 (Soltis) lines, but ...Qa5 causes Black a lot of theoretic headaches. After 9. 0-0-0 d5 (most people have started playing lines like 9... Bd7), the most straightforward is 10. exd5 Nxd5 11. Nxc6 bxc6 12. Nxd5 cxd5 13. Qxd5 when Black does not have full compensation for the Pawn after White's Queen goes to a3, and White plays b3 and c4. However, these lines are extremely difficult, and you may want to go with 9. Bc4 or 10. Qe1 because they're much simpler to play.

First of all, I have played ...Qa5 against Bc4 and have had few problems, I know the g4, h4 linese are thought to be problematic, but some new ideas have come to light. Secondly, I think 12. Nxd5 is a blunder and after 13...Qc7 14. Qc5 Qb8!? 15. Qa3 a5!? looks like plenty of compensation for merely a pawn, especially with juicy open ranks, files, and diagonals for Blacks extremely well-developed pieces.

I preffer the line 9.O-O-O d5 10.exd5 Nxd5 11.Nxc6 bxc6 12.Nxd5 cxd5 13.Qxd5 Qc7 14.Qc5 Qb7(8) 15.Qa3 . Hope I got the moves right but you should get the idea. I liked it when I saw Ivanchuk beating Fedorov with it rather easily. mitchst point of view is intersting but not from a grandmaster's point of view.

Theory does not give Black full compensation in the usual 12. Nxd5 (14... Qb8) lines, although 15... a5!? is relatively untested. As for ...Qa5, again, as far as I know, Black is still struggling in both the 12. h4, 13. g4 lines and the 12. h4, 13. h5, 14. Nd5 lines. I don't know of any new ideas that have come up, but I'd be very interested to hear of any.
