Message: His/her username is oshin88.There's been quite a losing streak due to time out(if you check the record).I was just wondering if anybody know him/her and know what's going on(his/her status is currently hided).
I'm not being nosy 'cause this person is the host of my current mini-tournament.By the way,we played in that tournament but he/she simply let the time run out.I mean a person can always get his/her game postponed right?

Message: I have won about six games before, two which were team games, because of time out. Maybe his computer stopped working and he couldn't get to another one to postpone his games on time

Chess news:
World cup in Russia -- How would you like to take a long airplane trip to Moscow in order to play two or three chess games, study up on chess openings to the fullest, try to arrange space to go by air to a town in Siberia (Khanty-Mansiysk, pop. 62,347), face cancellations, get to the airport in Moscow without taking a cab (they are unavailable or may break down on the way to the airport), find a flight, fly in a tiny plane, land, take transportation to the hotel, wait a day, play two or three chess games against a Grandmaster, lose, and then travel all the way back to the United States? This was the privilege of a number of Americans who received invitations to play in the World Chess Cup (128 players) ...
Snowdrops (Women) Beat Old Hands (Elder Men) in a Chess Match -- There are different theories about why so few women have become elite chess players. One of the most frequently cited is undoubtedly that there are not enough of them playing the game of chess so, by sheer numbers, there inevitably are more good male players than female players. Another theory is that most women are not by nature aggressive (or talented) enough. Over the years, a few top chess players — notably Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov (at least when he was younger) — have supported this politically incorrect view. Whatever the actual reason, or reasons, for this enduring conundrum, it was the gimmick behind a chess tournament that ...
Chess showdown! I play Magnus Carlsen, the world's No 1 -- I was due to play two chess games yesterday. The second was for Kingston against Crystal Palace in the Surrey League; the first was against Magnus Carlsen, a laconic 19-year-old Norwegian who is currently the world No 1. In 2004, as Carlsen's genius was emerging, the Washington Post called him the "Mozart of chess". That paper is probably unaware of my talents, but I aspire to be the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band of chess. Carlsen is in the UK, the first time he has been here, for the London Chess Classic that starts today at Olympia, and the organiser has arranged for us to play a game in the lobby of his hotel. While we are waiting for a chess set to arrive, I ask ...
