I like Keres, not only for his chess, but also for his contributions to chess literature. His books help me a lot. I also like Max Euwe. And of course I love Morphy, back in the days of chess romanticism. Ahhhh, before the days of exhausting opening book study.... if only I could go back in time.

there are millions of non chess players that think ANY chess player is a freak. so maybe GMs are ,, maybe i am ,, maybe you are ,, so what . i care not if people think im a freak for playing chess . it is they who are missing out not me . however i agree partailly with chesstickle ,, sometimes when playing chess i do get freaky . and i suspect there are a lot of freaky grandmasters. i view that word in context to chess as an honor !!! yoursbluebabygirl

yes im an interesting person . and you have to be able to get freaky to understand it . it mostly means being able to imagine something on the board thats very far in future play without exact calculation, similiar to intuition , at least thats my way of viewing it . and sometimes no matter how unlikely for that exact order of moves to happen, no matter how illogical or no matter how many other good or strong moves nevertheleess it happens the way you envision. I call that freaky!!! anyone else had similiar thing ?? yours bluebabygirl

in chess there are only 30 or so things you can do each move. that's not many. Life offers far more opportunities, and you don't have to wait 14 days for each move. So why am I stuck here playing chess? I guess I like the simple things. GRRRR
