94 ( +1 | -1 ) Chess.fm anyone?Has anyone been listening to chess.fm?
They started up during the Larry Christiansen match against Chessmaster and have covered the Kramnick/Deep Fritz match and are now covering the Olympiad.
It's not bad. The host calls himself Tony Rook (which I find cheesy but it's his station) and he is always joined by an IM or better to offer analysis of the games. The most common analyst is IM Bill Paschall. Listening to them discuss possible moves and such is far more interesting than just watching the boards for updates.
They are also starting weekly programs. Bill Paschall has a weekly lecture/lesson. Fred Wilson has a weekly show on chess books. There are others I don't remember now. They also have toll free numbers and encourage call-ins
Just thought you might be interested in checking it out if you had not heard of it yet. This week the broadcasts are every morning at 8:00 am EST to cover the Olumpiad.
